Hello, My name is Paul Thomson, born in Gutersloh, Germany. I moved to England in 1987 and have spent my time here located in the south-west. At present, I live and work in Bristol.

Artistic genes run through my family, my father being the strongest influence on my artwork as he himself has always been a keen artist. Also, my brother qualified from Loughborough University as a fashion designer and has since been highly successful owing to his artistic flair.

I have been painting, sketching and drawing since I was a child. I was always enthusiastic to pick up a brush or pencil and try things out. I studied art GCSE, however I chose not to study it further as I wanted to develop my own style of art, one which they didn’t seem to teach. Therefore, art is my pastime…my escape from the real world.

A few years ago, when money was scarce and I struggled to put together a half-decent birthday present for a friend of mine, I decided to paint them a picture. This became a regular occurrence for other friends and their reactions to these presents was far better and more fulfilling for me than if I’d have given them a common gift. Word soon spread, I ended up painting more and more, developing my style and enjoying the happiness I was able to inject into people’s lives.

This website has been set up to give people a chance to view/purchase my artwork. It’s not just about selling my work, it’s about helping people to understand the depth of my paintings, to see past the medium and into that one moment of time and feel all those emotions within.
